Job Title: Company Cook
Location: South Square – St. Ansgar, IA
Terms: Contracted for season – May 24 –Aug 7
Salary: $550 per week stipend
Job Description:
Responsibilities include, preparing evening meals approximately four days per week for 25 - 30 people, maintain a clean kitchen, and manage the food safety practices and standards, purchasing food and supplies; stock and prep buffet breakfast and lunch food items as needed.
Ideal Candidates:
Team leader with great communication skills; we are open to the idea of this position to be shared by2 people if needed: a parent/teenager, spouses, 2 friends coordinating to share the responsibilities.
Responsibilities &Duties:
Organization and management of Cedar Summerstock food services including:
· Purchase food and supplies for the season with budget considerations
· Stock company kitchen for self-serve breakfast and lunch
· Oversee meal prep and clean up
· Occasionally transport food to Cedar River Complex during techweeks (mileage reimbursement)
· Work with volunteers
Qualifications:
· Cooking experience
· Passion for food service
· Organizational skills; attention to detail
· Experience in planning and cooking to a variety of dietary needs
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Experience with quantity/family style food preparation, kitchen equipment and proper sanitation practices
